Feeler: Encore Innovation X-pipe & HFC's
Hey all, I'm thinking about going completely catless now that I've found a decently sporty (yet quiet) axle-back set-up. I've ordered up the Dinan axle-back and will most likely be switching to the catless Gintani set-up. I've had the Encore Innovation set-up on my car for about 250 miles. I haven't had any SES or CEL lights, and the performance is mind-bending. This is one of the few mods you can do and ACTUALLY feel the increase in power. After adding these HFC's my car now spins through 1st gear, kicks out sideways in 2nd gear, and produces some decent spin going into 3rd gear . I don't have any pictures yet, as the system is still on the car. However, I can have it removed within about an hour once I have time. I'm looking for $1500 plus shipping and/or Paypal fees.

Initially I had some, but once we had it up on the lift we were able to correct the clamps. All good now !

I did it myself, but just couldn't get the car high enough to properly seat the HFC pipes and adjust the clamps. I ended up taking it to my buddy's shop, and it was perfected in less than 10 minutes .

I'm in and out of exhaust set-ups way too much . I was planning on hanging onto these, but have decided to try the Gintani x-pipe with their new "sport" axle-back. These are still available and I'm open to offers .

I'd love to see a thread from you in the engine/exhaust section with little summary of each set-up you've had. I think you've had just about everything on the market on your car at some point! (Seems that way to me, but what do I know? )
I don't think anyone else around here has your depth of personal experience with so many systems, and having your insight in one place (rather than in the 1,600 exhaust threads here) would be invaluable to many of us. I find the options a bit overwhelming, and the inability to personally see/hear each system is a real pain. A lot of decisions get made without any real-life experience--and with no real sense of comparison between system x or Y. (I do not consider a video or recording "hearing" BTW...not the same as in person.) Something like: Axle Back X + stock mid pipesAnd for each: Power ImprovementMaybe just pick the top contenders to start with (mid and axle back versions). You could always build the thread one little piece at a time (kinda like an exhaust system ) to make manageable. If you don't have time, no sweat either, I'm just hoping you do as it would probably save many of us time/money/headaches. |

^ I completely agree; so few have the actual experience that comes with changing exhaust components every 8.3 days . . . .
Seriously though PT, it would be great if you went to the trouble to capture you experiences and observations in a single thread. |
