Split Screen Navigation
Picked up my 135 yesterday...FINALLY!!!
The car is amazing. I'll provide more impressions and some photos of it in a few days after I get to play with it more. While my sales guy was going over everything, he couldn't get a split screen between the map and the i-pod play list. I wasn't aware of this feature, but apparently it's there for other models. He thought perhaps it's just not available on the 1's nav. Does anyone else have this feature on their 1 with nav? On the way home I saw my second 1 sighting. It was a Cashmere Silver 128 going like a bat out of hell on 680 near Walnut Creek weaving in and out of traffic. But for now, while my sales guy was going over everything, he couldn't get a split screen between the map and the i-pod play list. I wasn't aware of this feature, but apparently it's there for other models. He thought perhaps it's just not available on the 1's nav. Does anyone else have this feature on their 1 with nav? __________________________________________ 135 - TiAg - black 'ette - aluminum - Comfort Access - Nav - Step |

This feature is only available on the professional navigation system. If you have got the business navigation you will not have the split screen feature

It works the same on the pop-up nav cars, like the Z4 and the X3. |

Dang...I was afraid of this. Wish BMW wouldn't charge over $2k for this if it has less features compared to others.
Oh well...I bought the car to drive...not mess with a fricken computer. But still.... |

Navi: can you do split screen between iPod and Navi?
I'm told yes, and no! :iono:
I know you can do it on the 335i navi, so it possible on the 135 navi to have both the navigation and the iPod interface on it in a split screen?

If you have it on the radio screen and using your NAV, when it's time to make turn it will bring it up on the screen. Then once you make the turn it will just go back to the radio screen.
BUT I don't think you can have both the map and radio screen at the same time. I will play with it more on the way home.

you cannot on the 1 series because the screen is smaller then on the 3 series. I love the idrive on my current 3 series but I would not get it on the 1 series for the fact that its functionality is limited by screen size.

In the BMW accessories brochure it details some kind of split software is available- This is however, a UK magazine so Im not sure if it differs in the US? I'm thinking about getting it, so Ill make some enquiries and let you guys know.
