The new lady in my life is very, very cool. Down to earth, fun to be with, easy to talk to. The physical aspect of things is really, really good. We both share a passion for music, although she is into completely different genres than me; that is actually another area of concern. I can tell that we are very different in several ways. She likes to be out on the town almost every week. Once, maybe twice per week is enough for me. I'm pretty regimented. I'm a bit of an introvert and she is very, VERY extroverted. There's obviously the paying for dates thing that isn't that much of an issue now, but absolutely would become an issue further down the road. Again, I'm not projecting wedding bells in my future with her, but for right now it's exactly what I need in my life and my plan is to just enjoy it. The last three years of my life have been pretty tumultuous to say the least.

I appreciate all of the input. This definitely isn't something I'd cut bait over just yet, but I figured I'd post up to see if anyone else has any advice on how to tactfully approach this. I of course could be blunt and say 'hey can you grab this one?', but I'm not sure if that's the right approach. It definitely doesn't feel right to me, and I like to stay true to myself and do what I think is right.

Looking back over a few posts to get context, I went through a similar thing with a woman I dated (until just recently). She was a good bit younger, made a lot a lot less money so I covered everything for the first couple months. It was fine and all, but we went out a LOT. Like multiples times a week - out to nice dinners, drinks, etc.

Eventually when it was more established and less casual I had a talk with her about "hey i'm going to have to cut back on going a little because there's some stuff I want to save for". She was totally fine with it and then she started to offer to cover things here and there. Money isn't and wasn't tight for me, but I just wanted to reprioritize what I was doing and she stepped up.

Fast forward a few months later, I eventually broke it off when it was becoming less novel/fun and it was just a relationship that I didn't see as a forever fit. We parted with out much for hard feelings (honestly a first for me lol). That part was really hard. I cared a lot about her but ultimately I wasn't going to marry her so I needed to end things before it slowly dropped off or ran it's complete course.

Thanks for the insight, I really do appreciate it. Right now I'm just enjoying the moment. I know for sure that we're not a good match for a long term relationship, but it's exactly what I need in my life right now. She's recently divorced so I think the feeling is mutual.

I wouldn’t have anything to do with a woman who is into any drugs. I dated a couple porn actresses when I was young and dumb. There were drugs involved with them and on one particular occasion, I thought I was going to be murdered. That was the end of dating porn actresses, for me. It just wasn’t worth it and it was always a shit show. When I have more time, if you guys remind me, I will tell you the story. For me I’ve never done drugs. I’ve never even smoked weed. So, I try to stay far far away from anyone who does drugs. Because, it never ends well.

I stopped going to church because of this. Repenting got old. Funny at how when I went to church I was constantly told I was going to hell. I quit going and I no longer hear it or worry about it.
