Since the internet reveal of the new BMW 1-Series SportHatch, the forums have been ablaze with photoshop artists displaying their skills in producing 3-Door variants, Coupe variants and facelifts of the car. Here are just a select viewing of interesting things people have come up with so far:

First up is this rendering from member "e89": http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showp...6&postcount=15

Name: coupe3door-1.jpg
Views: 122960
Size: 233.8 KB

Name: coupe3door-2.jpg
Views: 54687
Size: 237.1 KB

When the teaser images of the M-Sport variant surfaced, EvilDiesel was quick to see the potential for the 1er, and decided to do some photoshop tuning of the car, adding a set of wheels and lowering the suspension and came up with this: http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=29

Name: evildieselmsport.jpg
Views: 46226
Size: 136.7 KB

Andy Vallencia also rendered the F20 M-Sport (in 3-Door), but went the photorealistic route

Forum regular Roger Lighterness aka Harold Wood has come up with a series of photoshop renders: http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=540535

New member BMW_M6 has thrown in as well with his take on the 3-Door, Coupe and Cabrio variants: http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=542630

Tetsujin decided to go with a set of VMR wheels and a suspension drop to enhance the look of the otherwise stock F20 SportHatch: http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541687

Name: schico.jpg
Views: 82227

Spyros E81 imagines the F20 with a blacked out M-Sport rear and dual tailpipes of the 135i: http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541653

To be perfectly honest, this is just a small sampling of what forum members have done with the F20 so far, just surf around the F20 section and you'll come across many more. If you have the photoshop skill, why not try your hand at it as well?

The white coupe makes me feel a little better about the next 1 series but I still don't like the front end and those headlights remind me of the sloth from the Goonies. Baby Ruth!

The M2 has a big act to follow after the popularity of the 1M.

I agree. The new design concept across the board looks a bit imbecilic.

The 5-Series looks like Timon (from The Lion King)
The 3-Series looks like Baby Ruth (from The Goonies)

What's more, the overall look is looking more and more Japanese in style.

Not liking where things are going.

Now, this looks great. They would have to angle the lights a little bit downward as you appear to do.

Better, but still reminds me of a Hyundai Tiburon.

Yeah, looks way too Hyundai'ish or Japanese for my tastes. The E82 will age well I think.

Nice Photoshop skills.

However, in reality, I think the F22 coupe and F23 convertible will not share a single body panel with the F20 (or F21) hatchback. And I think this will happen regardless of whether they decide to call them the 2 series or keep the 1 series name. This is similar to how the E92 and E93 don't share any body panels with the E90 (or E91), and the F32 and F33 will continue the trend by sharing nothing on the exterior with the F30. SCOTT has said they intend to differentiate the 2-door (3 box) 1 series models from the hatchbacks this time around.

In other words, I don't expect the controversial F20 face to remain. Though that doesn't mean they won't come up with something just as funky and controversial for the "2"s.

Definitely not stock rims and stuff. I wonder if I'd be willing to add a 3.5k M sport package onto a 245hp car, idk, to me the turbo 6 from 135i appeals more. The price, however, has just changed to absurdity.

Like the rendering of the coupe and three-door hatch, it makes the headlights work.. if it goes in that direction, it will be good thing.

I'd buy the first white render of a coupe in a heartbeat to replace my E82, it looks great. The rest are really nice, too, every one of them is better than what BMW has given us with the F20.

All of these renders are huge improvements - great work guys. Hopefully BMW will do something similar.
