Over the weekend, the all new 1-Series was released, and typical for a new BMW release, there has been alot of conversation and controversy over the styling.

BMW has gone ahead and put up this single picture of the M-Sport to tantalize us until the full wallpapers are released.

Probably the most striking feature of the M-Sport 1er will be the addition of Estoril Blue Metallic as a new color option. This will not be available on non M-Sport equiped vehicles.

The M-Sport package consists of all new bumpers and sills with new M light alloy wheels in either 17" or 18". The chrome trim is replaced by high-gloss Shadow Line trim.

On the interior, the M-Sport package includes some typical and some new elements. Equipment includes an M leather multifunction steering wheel, nappa leather clad e-brake handle and gear shifter. The trim is redone in an "Aluminum Hexagon" with blue accents. Sport seats carry over the hexagon theme with a combination of Hexagon fabric and Alcantara. You can always alternativly go with the standard leather coverings that come as part of the Sport Line package.

* Sorry guys, I know the pictures are small, hopefully we get the full release soon!

New Commercials and Short Film

BMW has also put out the next phase in their 2Originals tie in to the release of the new 1-Series, with a short TV commercial and an associated Short Film. Both good for seeing the new 1-Series in living motion to give beter perspective on the new design.

That's a bit better. Notice the non-angel eye headlights.

The interior is phenomenal!
The exterior is not as ugly as the base version but come on! What were you thinking BMW?

looks good, but I am getting bored with the M-sport packs, they seem the same as 10 years ago.

I'm sorry but M sport package doesn't do any good.
The car itself is ugly, especially those headlight, remind me of E65 7 series headlights when it first came out.

To be honest, this car looks worse than the first generation X3s.
I will have to see it in person to finalize my thoughts though.

One thing for sure, F20 wont get any uglier. Even BYD china won't bother making a copycat out of it.

Hm... I don't really like the exterior... those lights look like panda's eyes.

Other than that.. its not bad overall.

I have to admit that I somehow like the headlights now. I woke up one morning, looked at the pictures and they looked better then.

The M front end seems to be overdesigned a bit but maybe it'll grow on me, too.

Looks a lot better than the base version IMO. Let's wait and see for the official unveiling though.

I'm not sure if this Estoril Blue is a new colour or not, but it sounds interesting. If there is a picture of it could somebody please post it?

meh bit better but sheesh those headlights

A bit worried about the similarity of frontend design though.
New 7, New 5 and now this all look more or less the same?

BMW following Audi in terms of design? God I hope not!

The M-sport interior is nice however!
Mmmm those seats!

M-sport looks better. Finally we have some kind of break below the kidneys to the leading edge of the bumper.
