What about models without Navi?
I am able to access the first simple menu, but no the Service Menu controlled by iDrive.

I found the answer with the help of a friend of mine. You keep pressed the button of km on the panel for about 15 sec until a screen apears. Then you press again to go to unlock menu and then you put the sum of the last 5 digits of your vin number and there it is.

You are right, but it does not unlock the service menu in the iDrive screen and does not allow to change any configuration of the vehicle, just make some tests.

There is at least one thing you CAN adjust and that is the consumption values the BC shows.
They are far to optimistic and I have adjusted the values to show more realistic values.

How do you change the fuel consumption values? Is it just trial and error to get accurate values?

Under Consumption youīll find the correction to edit.
You change the number shown to your "right" values.

Say you want to increase the consumption value showed (when you find that the BC is a bit optimistic) by 7% (as I do) you increase the number shown by 7%.

Thatīs it!

I might also add that you can see both the coolant and oil temperatures in the hidden menu under īTemperaturesī.
