Saw this item below posted about but ref a 320d and wondered about the 335d??

I know alot of other tubo diesels fit turbo bypass pipes to eliminate the EGR issues. Now i know these issues exist on the 335d and we are always looking for more power!

Is this a mod for the 335d or a no no. Will this pipe fit?


I mailed the seller and he didn't know if it would fit on a e92 335d.

Any thoughts??

My guess is, since it was designed for the 2 liter diesel it won't work on the 3.0 liter diesel. Would be nice though and it doesn't look like it would be difficult for a fabricator to make. One would think there has got to be a shop in Europe that offers this for the 335d.

Got curious and went looking... Here's a couple of interesting threads on the matter. 2nd link is referenced in the first thread. Also not discussed is, when by-passing or blocking the vacuum hose, one would need to do some coding so the ecu doesn't throw a fault code.

Just looked at the eBay listing. Seller talks about CO2. My understanding is the EGR is to reduce peak combutions temperatures which will reduce NOx (not CO2). A Diesel engine is very good at generating NOx, which is why we need the DEF system.

As far as I know only some in Europe have tried. Without some tuning/coding it will trigger a check engine light.
