My e92 finally got loaded aboard a cargo vessel- the TAIPAN ...

left Bremerhaven Jan 29, stops in Belguim, UK, and then New York on Feb 10.

The call sign is C6VF2, WW voyage # EX701-TAI

Anyone else from here on board?

Congratz guys, seems like you will be receiving your vehicles soon. My vehicle is on the Freedom, scheduled to arrive NYC on Feb 5th. I'll let you know how long the wait is from the vehicle hitting the port to taking delivery.

Does anyone in the DC Metro area know why a car coming into an area dealership gets off loaded in NY instead of Balt?

they must go thru BMWs Vehicle Processing Center first...

I don't know as much about BMW, but having suffered the *wait* with 3 MINIs, I know the MINI VPC is near the NEAT terminal in NY/NJ.. (does that help?)

I figured as much. Baltimore is 200 miles closer to the dealer. I keep thinking there must be a way to speed things up!

Has anyone seen a position update of the Taipan? I've been checking on one of the websites but so far the Taipan's call sign doesn't show up. Seas and wind seem calm so far. Hope she is making good time to NY!

We don't have much longer to wait.. less than 2 weeks I'd guess. What's your spec? Mine is TiAg with black leather/alum 6MT & the sport package..

I'm reasonably sure they'll be on the same carrier unless you're getting an aerokit or something that might take longer at the VPC..

My salesman is David now, since Heather left.

it's going to be a looker, that one!

I'd have nothing but a MT, but that said, ATs are not what they used to be, especially a BMW 6 speed. I drove a Z4 3.0si with the AT, (I guess it's very similar) and I certainly had fun in sport mode sequential.

I went from a Civic Si 5MT (the 99 that came in that special blue color) to my 5AT TL. It bothered me at first coming from the manual, but after a while you get used to it. I'm one of those fools that pretends its a manual and never drives not in step-mode. It's aLOT jerkier on my car so it kind of gives me that feel when i'd engine brake. Hopefully this one won't disappoint.

Taipan now due in NY tomorrow according to the shipping line. Headed South tomorrow as well hope that day early means it was a calm gentle ride for all rides. Good Luck on an early delivery.

Just thought I would add to this... Im on Taipan as well, so I called my advisor & he said the computer is kicking back 2/21 as a delivery date & Im in Milwaukee, WI... coming through Charleston.

11 days after nyc? Geesh. If it takes like another 4 days to get to sc, then what gives with that extra 7 days. I mean, it cant take more than a day to prep. Does it take 6 days to get from SC to where you are!?

I checked and It looks like I am still on waiting for my car to get to SC. It now shows the shit due in on the 13th instead of the 14th on the WW website!

Takes about 5 day from your vehicle being discharged to taking delivery. In Ny that is.
