Service recommendations in Boston area?

Sorry if this doesn't quite fit in general discussion, but I didn't see a service-related forum.

My 4-year warranty expires in a month and I want to take advantage of it while I can. Everything seems fine, but maybe there's something that will be a problem in 3/6/12 months if not addressed now. I was thinking of having my car inspected/diagnosed by an independent shop rather than the dealership, and was hoping to get a recommendation or two in the greater Boston area (incl. suburbs/exurbs). Thanks in advance!

Fortunately, I no longer live in Mass. But when I was sentenced to life in Boston and had an E90, I occasionally attended Boston BMWCCA events where the guys at Village European were marketing to members (https://www.villageeuropean.com/).

It looks like they are still there but I don't know if it's the same ownership. I do remember the owner/tech discovering that the N52 -- which used a mix of metal that shouldn't be mixed, specifically a magnesium valve cover on an aluminum block -- was coming apart. Rather than bill me for the repair, he recommended I ask BMW for goodwill. BMW agreed to fix it.

So, a good memory that if the shops is in the same hands might make you want to talk to them.

Depending on where you live:
- Eurotech motorsports has the best reputation
- Auto Engineering in Lexington
- Bavarian Performance Group is also highly rated but when i got a quote last time i think it's very absurd

Garage List
There are lots of places that will do good work on your car but I recommend Fastrack in peabody for the best work at a cost effective price.

As for your notion that you can find things wrong with your car that are not obvious through a 3rd party inspection.... I think you are wasting your time. You are unlikely to find anything meaningful that BMW would count as under warranty.

The dealer gets paid by BMW to do warranty work, they will tell you anything that is possibly wrong to be able to bill to their profit center.
