Optical conductor door pocket.
Hello!
I have a question regarding the part called "optical conductor door pocket", partcode 63319321269 . It could be for illuminating the door pockets (the one used normally for the drink bottles) ? I tried to find it on the back of the door card, but I didn't find it. Normally I should find it, because my car has the Light package S563A. Does anybody have light in the door pockets? Or have seen this part ? I haven't found any picture of it on the internet. Regards! |

I found that our X1's can have ambient lights in the door pockets.
On the back of the door card it is the following elements: - electrical wire with plug - support for the led - a little hole into the door pocket, for installing the optical conductor I don't understand why BMW removed this feature from the cars manufactured after march 2016. I tried to order a set of optical conductors, to make a retrofit, but the shop asked for the VIN. Because my car is produced in June 2016, they told me that they are not available for it. Does anyone can help with the last 7 digits of a F48 with ambient light package S563A, produced before March 2016? |

The first two pictures are from a door card witch I bought for tests and the last two pictures are from my car, where I tested a 2-color led module.
The result: it is working !!! I just need to buy the optical door conductors for the doors, but I need a VIN (last 7 digits) from a pre 03/2016 car. |

Have you seen a car with pocket door lights? I wonder if there are lights inside all four doors, or just in the front. From www.realoem it is not clear if there are 2 or four light guides. |

very nice ! I guess it is a very weak light. Could you, please, post here some pictures of the pocket door lights at night (front and rear)? It could be interesting to see how it is looking. Last edited by StefanJ; 05-27-2019 at 12:35 AM.. |

Hi again!
Here is the retrofit steps for pocket door lights, but only if you have the lights packet S563A on your car. What you need: 4 led modules 63 31 9 353 133 4 optical guide for door pocket 63 31 9 321 269 Black electrical tape T20 torx screwdriver Plastic lever Time: about 2 hrs Open door pannel from al clips, excepting the upper ones. Locate the cable for led, the led support and the hole in the pocket. Cover the optical guide with black tape as in the picture. Insert the guide into the led module. Connect the cable to the led module. Now, based on touch sense, insert the guide into the hole, then clip the led module onto its support. Using a small mirror, check if you see the whole light into the hole. Close door panel. This is all. Pictures will came. |

Unfortunately not...
I only tooked close-up pictures, to better see the details. But take a look at the first picture from the thread and try to locate the pyramid shape plastic part (in the bottom left corner in the picture). Also, the place is very easy accessible, even if you don't remove the entire card from the door. If you look at the door from inside the vehicle, the place is inside the pocket, in the most external corner of it (direction back of the car), at an inch near the upper edge. If you search with your fingers, you will find a small hole of 3 mm in diameter. |

I don't think so. It was a factory option for cars fabricated until 03.2016. Don't know why BMW take it out from the option list after that. Still, you can install it yourself if you have some skills. It's looking really great in the dark. |
