Electric steering: no fluid?

I've only ever driven cars with the old hydraulic power steering, so forgive me if this sounds goofy. With electric steering, I'd guess there is no such thing as power steering fluid that needs to be replaced or topped off?

The electric power steering fluid reservoir is located next to the blinker fluid reservoir
