Looking to upgrade to 19" Wheels
As the title says and I am looking to upgrade from the stock 18" to 19" wheels. Like to reach out to the community and get their opinion about this 19" wheel setup.
19"X8.5"+42 and goal is to have an flush setup with an aggressive look (depending on what type of wheels I decide to get). Correct if I am wrong, the current 18" as follows: 18"X7.5"+52? With F48 owner who are running aftermarket 19" wheels, what are your wheel specs?

To keep wheel arch , wheel strut alignment and ride height as close to original For 20” calcs would say 20” x 8” + 45 [225/40]. Your 19” x 8.5” +42 would give 11.4mm (0.45”) extra poke (poke out of wheel arch) and be 1.3mm (0.05”) closer to suspension strut than oem 19” set-up. |

Can't wait to see how your 20" setup turns out. Are you keeping your stock suspension or plan on upgrading the struts/springs?

What is the threshold of the inner rim being close to the suspension strut? Is 3.7mm considered acceptable/safe OR needs to be a lower value? As for poking out, I would assume 21.7mm may slightly seat a little pass flush or close to flush with the wheel and fender?

I personally wouldn't recommend 20". In order to match the proper diameter for the odo and speedo you would have to go with low profile tires on a 20" wheel on a heavy vehicle with less suspension travel you'll end up with a harsh ride.
I'm looking to swap my winters with a 19" 8.5 with a tire size of 245/40/19 Toyo HUP all seasons on all 4. The choices out there are rather limited: Niche: Ascari M166; Misano M116; Turin M169; Vosso M204. Fast: FC04 or Braelin BR10. Those are my choices and I will have to make a decision soon as spring is here and it's getting warmer which is bad for winter tires. Winter tires are so noisy and it will be a pleasure to drive on performance tires. Meanwhile anyone interested in a set of 4 brand new OEM 18" Run Flats with only a few hundred kms, please feel free to contact me. I'll give you a great price for all 4. |

Great photos, vince1288, and I see there are different ranges of offset being used. From +32 to +45. I was recommended +42...
I'm with Xorbitman, I will stick with 19" X 8.5" wheels. Waiting on the right deal of wheels

Hopefully end of April the deal for the wheels I'm looking for is still on. What you guys think of stealth gray or gun metal on my dark metallic gray x1? i was thinking of black wheel...

Brushed silver faces and silver windows. I was going to do a dark color but the blue really pops and I wanted some nice silver finished wheels to compliment how clean the car always is. Plus to be honest, I have never liked dark color wheels. Dark wheels kinda hides all the nice lines of the wheel.
With your color I would probably do a bronze or silver. But again this is just me. |
