Hi all, i'm a new owner of f48 118d producted in 12/2018. it has S6UPA with carplay. I can see a protected wlan (carplay one ).
I tried coding with bimmercode, in advanced mode , using the strings thath i found online,but i get only Wlan shows up in the setting, but can´t activate it.

Anyone can help me to unlock this function?

and i'd like to know if is it possible coding more colours for ambient light

Coding for more colours is not possible on F48. The F48 only two led colours (white & orange is U.K) in ambient strip (unlike F15 which has more). If you try to code you only get white.

Try these, they are for F30 so exact ecu and descriptions may not be same. Use expert search mode if necessary. I have not done or tried this/these myself so thanks to other forum members incl bimmer4lif3

But I still think the WLAN you are seeing is protected and purely for X1 ENTRYNAV2 HU to be able to handle CarPlay data volume, it uses/needs Bluetooth & WiFi combined.
You should/may see another accessible WLAN after coding with different description (guess on my part)

Already done! But there is only carplay wlan, I activated also MIRACAST BUT, nothing more than a checkbox in the menu that trying unsuccessfully,to activate WLAN!

All the people coding this are working with NBTevo head units. They are also making changes to other settings including ENT_MIRACast aktiv in HU_NBT2 which you may not have. You said you had looked at posts regarding MIRACast.

The X1 does not have NBTevo, it has ENTRYNAV OR ENTRYNAV2 Head Unit (except in Japan, China, Taiwan & Russia).
I am not sure it is possible. I said I had not done or tried to make this coding work myself. I just shared coding other people said worked for them.

I know you can order X1 with WLAN ready in order I to have WiFi hotspot in the car. This is separate to CarPlay ready. Your car will have a WLAN antenna fitted into the HU for CarPlay

It is possible you may need an extra module fitted. I believe (but may be wrong) that people successfully coding this have all had to activate MIRACAST or MIRA-CAST SETTINGS in HU_NBT2

already done! But nothing. i tried also to switch off carplay wlan... but nothing! Probably, i need one more module!

Hi guys, I've just activated wifi in my BMW x1 f48 2017 advatage, 6.5 inches display, Russia Moscow, but wifi didn't get ip for my phone. I did it via Bimmercode expert mode, activate all with wlan, wifi, wireless, miracast. Any ideas?

With subscription you can set up a wireless hotspot in the car using vehicle inbuilt sim, it will provide connectivity without need for mobile.
