ST v1 CO's or H&R Cup Kit
I'm looking to lower my car and have narrowed it down to these two choices. Wondering if people know which will be lower and how handling and ride compare.
I'm looking to lower the car primarily for looks, but also want a nice improvement in handling without sacrificing ride quality. Not sure I need the CO's as I won't adjust them, but I hear the ride may be better. Also, I don't want too aggressive of a drop, just really the front needs to be lowered to my eye. Wondering if the ST's adjustability will allow me to get a less aggressive drop. Any insight or experience is appreciated. Thanks |

For example, if someone has used both and could chime in on which will be lower. |

I'm in the same boat as you Herms.
The price difference between the ST and H&R cupkit is about ~$300.

ST's will be lower. From the two the clear victor is the ST's - if your driving environment supports it (meaning can't be driving in the snow).
ST's carry the same lifetime warranty, it's a little more but I think well worth it, plus ride height adjustable which the cup kit is not. Rides the same as the KW V1 (cause its the same thing as well). |

I have ST coilovers and would recommend getting a set. The ride is perfect.. not too harsh and not too soft. You will definitely feel the difference after putting on a set of ST's as compared to your BMW springs. I say go for it!

Not sure if your interested but I have a brand new set of KW V1's for sale that I bought for my e92. Unfortunitally I cant afford to keep the car anymore so I'm getting rid of it before I had a chance to experience these coilovers. List on there is $1525 I paid around $1400 shipped, be willing to take a loss and let them go for $1200. They're brand new in the box still. PM me if your interested or have questions or if anyone reading this is interested PM me aswell. Too bad i didnt find this forum till its too late.

go with the ST's. I've driven on the V1's, V2's and ST's. The recommended default setting on the V2 feels like the default setting on the ST's which are the same as the V1's. Definately worth the money to go w/ coils since you are in L.A.

Depends on your ET of your front wheels, I had the ST coils installed with ET40's and there minor clearance issues, but ET40 is not ideal for a lowered E92...I installed 10MM spacers and the car looks and drives perfecto. |
