X1 roof rack and bicycle mount

Need some advice on what to do for carrying two bicycles on the roof.

Should I get the BMW roof bars or go with something from Thule or Yakima?

Found this video for Thule bars for the X1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKxgpeHoV0s

Does anyone have an experience with the following bicycle mounts.
  • Yakima Frontloader
  • Thule Sidearm 594XT

What combinations are you using?

I put BMW bars on my X1, although it is also OEM made by Thule.
But it looks much better with smooth edge than Thule one.

Thanks for the information. What bike mount are you using in your photo and is it better to go with the style you are using that mounts the fork to mount versus one that you leave the wheels on. The bikes I would be carrying will be mountain bikes.

YES, BMW bars have the T-track.
See below for your reference.
But you also need to get the T-track Adapter 889-4, it seems you can only get it from Europe. I got mine from my friend in Germany.

alnchiang , I've just followed your link to the Thule website as I'm looking at roof bar options, and they've issued a recall on the Thule Sprint 569 product it seems.

The recall is shown at: http://www.thule.com/en-us/ca/suppor...rint-recall-na

I thought I'd let you know in case you are affected by this...
