Opinions and advice requested re mocha leather interior

Hi, I'm considering ordering a mocha interior rather than the usual all black. I would like to know from those who may already have it, if they are happy with it and if they would recommend it. Also I would like the Matt oak trim, but have not seen a real life example, and was wondering if it has more black undertones, and if there are brown tones in it too?
Many thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Hi. I have the mocha interior and love it. It's s great color. Dark enough to hide dirt and scuffs but light enough to to add contrast to the interior. I have the glossy fine line wood trim and think it goes well with the mocha interior. I have seen the matte interior as well with mocha but preferred a difference in sheen between the trim and dash materials.

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. I'm pleased to hear that the color helps hide dirt too, and be too light.

Do you have a picture? I've ordered this combo but was concerned that the fine line may clash slightly with the mocha, as the tone looked a little different from the samples I put together in the showroom...

Thanks. Is that an anthracite head liner or just the standard liner? Looks quite dark on the photo.

Hey, Kevin. I posted a few closeup photos of the matt oak trim a while back: http://f48.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=14

It's black in normal lighting conditions. But there's a tiny tiny almost unnoticeable hint of dark brown in extremely bright light (e.g. sunlight at noon, camera flash)... Probably because of the exposed wood grains. I personally think it looks great with all the available leather colours. your dealer should have samples available for you to compare with different leathers.

And yes, that is anthracite in bmtespar's photo.

Thanks, I like them both but am still not convinced they work together by these pictures. Tones seem to clash, might have to switch to brushed aluminium...

Thanks KPD, nice clear pics. Can clearly see now the true effect. Unfortunately the two dealers near me do not have the oak trim as a sample. I would have thought so but no. Thanks again for your pics and comments. Helps a lot! :thumbsup

Brushed aluminium with mocha:

Fineline Oak with mocha:

Of the 3 trim choices with mocha leather I think the Fineline Oak looks best. Brushed aluminium doesn't really match the rest of the mocha interior.

No worries. Surprised no cars around you with the Oak trim, they are pretty common around here on demo cars. Very lovely trim in real life, classy yet modern, more charcoal than brown. Would have loved to get Oak if it was available with M Sport, but sadly it's not.

matte finish is not for everyone, the car that we test drove had it, my wife didn't like it, so I ordered fineline oak trim with mocha.

Nonsense ! I've seen all three in real life with mocha leather.

The black high-gloss Trim looks nice but is worthless in maintenance.
Very susceptible to scratching and you see everywhere greasy fingers , dust and hairs on.

The Oak Trim looks classic (a little old fashion / matte finish /
not sportive) but looks good and nice.
However, it combines poorly with the high-gloss black center console.

I choose brushed aluminium Trim and the combination is fantastic !
it looks premium and sporty look, and combines perfectly with the black dashboard and mocha leather interior.
Also, the chrome edge under the aluminium trim is the perfect touch.
Combines well with aluminum components in the M steering wheel

Nothing personal as colors and designs.
But this combination I have absolutely no regrets, I recommend it to everyone with a mocha or black interior.
see the combination in real life! (In photographs it is hard to see)

I have Mocha it looks great. I was going to get black leather too but it looked gray. I feel like my mocha looks a lot darker than the pics above. I'll have to take a pic tomorrow.

I whole heartedly agree. I had a loaner X1 with gloss black trim and it showed every spec of dust and finger print.
