Mechanic Chicago area?

Hello all. First post here. I have a 2010 335d bone stock. I had put a burger tuning piggy back chip in, but removed it before the winter time. I regret pulling the chip, and have considered buying another one. I would really prefer to tune the car and perform a dpf delete (call me crazy but being able to blow out black smoke seems really appealing to me). I have not had any luck finding anyone in the area. Does anyone know of a reputable mechanic in the Chicago land area?

Sorry if someone has already addressed this but I'm getting desperate.

You know that if you get a proper tune, there will not be a lot of black smoke out the back. Some days I miss being able to press it down and let tailgaters know what I think of them.

I have to admit I'm confused with OP's statement. You have the DPF and your getting alot of smoke? Yozh is right. We had a tune where there was alot of smoke during hard acceleration and then switched to a different tune and smoke is mostly absent and only a little under hard accel. You will notice alot more stink in the exhaust smell after DPF delete.

Dont know of any tuners in the area or anybody doing diesel performance mods on our cars. But I have had luck with RN Bavarian with maintenance on my E39 M5. I most likely will take my D there for repairs other than CBU. I already asked and they wont do that there. If you find anyone else in the area, please let me know.

I don't have the smoke as the car is stock. I have friends with diesal trucks and when you get on it the truck pours out soot (black smoke). I would like to be able to remove the fluid and give the car a nice exhaust. I think it would be pretty great to have a BMW crop dusting people on 94.

Thanks I'll reach out to them. I have been looking for someone that can work on these things but it has not been so great. I have a adaptive headlight malfunction and the dealer quoted me at a little under 1k. I asked them if they could just get the warning off and I would pay. I guess to replace the motor on the headlight they have to reprogram the car.

I live up near Gurnee (by six flags) but I work in northbrook. I am willing to put some commute time in for someone who can work on the d. I've struck out a few times with BMW mechanics who don't have the knowledge to work on these cars.

Since I originally posted this I ordered another jbd chip to hold me off for a bit
