There's a difference between an S-Class and literally every other sportscar.
We were talking about how large the C8 is and I meant that I simply don't enjoy very large cars. That's why I bought the 2er.

I hear ya. I'm just saying, that's a difficult comparison.

But yes, if you don't like bigger sportscars, the C8 probably shouldn't be high on your list.

All for the price of the M4 give or take...
No chance this version will be anywhere close to the price of an M4. Z06 will cost more than the standard car and the ZR1 will be above it. Last ZR1 started at $120k and had 755 hp.

Also highly unlikely we will see the ZR1 this time next year or that you will be able to get it soon after introduction for anywhere close to MSRP.

Every Corvette I see is either driven by a bald man in his 50's/60's or by a young guy who managed to make more money than most at his age. I can't stand this stereotype, but it holds true. The vette is an old mans car.

Not sure if it's because I'm becoming an old man, but if it were me. I'd go C8 all day long and then probably again tomorrow. Could care less about the Supra, I'd rather wait for Lexus's IS500 they trademarked earlier this year. The M4?.....eh, I don't care for the front end.

M4 CS started at what, $105k? Z06 will likely be around there or maybe a bit cheaper with just the new turbo V8, and that’s targeted at this time next year. The hybrid ZR1 is unknown when it’ll come out, but it’s not impossible we’ll see it before next holiday season (though you’re likely right that the ZR1 is 2-4 years away and not 1 year away). Still, Point was of OP is in no rush, there are good things coming.

Porsche has just become too expensive unless you want a Macan S or Boxster/Cayman with the base engine.

M4, face aside, is a major porker. 3800-3900 lbs does not sound like a nimble driver's car to me.

I hear the C8 and Supra have issues with numb steering, but which car doesn't nowadays?

The M2 is the darling of the automotive world in my eyes due to its visceral driving experience and reasonable price, but it comes with its compromises (2 doors, not incredibly lightweight, severely dated interior).

C8 is REALLY hard to beat for bang for the buck though, assuming you get a placement, and in your list probably my pick as well

In all honesty, the Alfa 4C may be the true sleeper here.

The C8 Corvette is no lightweight. Despite being smaller than the M4 it weights in at 3650 lbs base. Higher performance variants will most certainly be heavier. Really the Cayman is the only true lightweight left.

"The M3 will set you back $70,895, and the M4 starts at $72,795, with the Competition package offered at a modest extra $2900."

OP said his budget was $50k -$70k, what you are talking about is out of the budget.

Base C8 is $58k if we're just sticking with that part of the discussion. But if he's looking to spend and can be patient, I don't think it's unreasonable to be able to save another $30k over 2-4 years for the higher end options.

Tough call - i'd have to say C8.

If it were my money, it'd be a used Evora 400 with 3 pedals.

If OP has been driving BMW, something tells me he will be disappointed with the C8. It's still pretty much a Corvette albeit with the engine in the middle.

Surprisingly, I've never driven a Corvette other than the older models which were nice. Do the newer models not handle as well?

Thing is: Does it handle its weight well? Because if that's the case then the size shouldn't be an issue.

If I was going 2 seats I would’ve ordered a C8 or possibly bought a Viper/Boxster Spyder. But I wanted 4 seats.

True but it's not really a livable car, more like a weekend toy.

Unless OP is a masochist I don't think it'll work.

Some reviewers were saying there was understeer, but they were doing stuff to upset the chassis mid-corner that you wouldn't do when actually trying to go fast. GM knows what they are doing with handling. Drivers taking them to the limit have nothing but good stuff to say by and large. Driving my car around a course, I've gotten comments like: "I've never seen a camaro over-steer before, I thought they were just massive under-steer"-referring to older generations, mostly pre C5 Camaro stuff, which was just junk as far as handling.

GM chassis tuning is excellent however it looks like the C7 is a bit more sports car like and raw in its handling compared to the C8 which is still good but a bit softer, notably in the steering, brakes and weight gain.
