Where is the microphone in 118i ?

Hello there,

I'm wondering if anyone can give me a clue on where I can find the microphone (for bluetooth handfree) in the car. I've checked the auto-roof switch cluster but did not find any slot or empty socket for a microphone, and there's no cut-out on the trim or cover.

Thanks in advance.

It's in the roof by the A pillar.

There are two small square vent-like receivers near the two front sun visors.
Just speak normally while sitting in either of the front seats, the perception is great! Love this function.

Thanks! I just found the cut-out there and guess it should be the place for the microphone. Unfortunately, my car does not have the bluetooth option pre-installed so I assume there's nothing inside.

I am going to order the microphone plus necessary wiring, bluetooth antenna, and the Combox from a local dealer to retrofit the bluetooth system.

The next step I'd like to try is opening the sun visors cluster and checking out its internal structure.

One more question:

Does anyone know how to remove the cover of the sun visors cluster?

In my 116i M Sport, there seems to be only one microphone, located on the driver side.

Thanks, Ovekvam. After some research work on realoem.com, it looks like the microphone is located next to the driver side handle, above the left ear of the driver ( left-wheel model). But I haven't found the cut-out yet, maybe it's not installed at all.

Yes, that is where it is on mine. Between the handle and the sun visor mount. It looks like a small plastic housing with holes in it.
