2017 car replaced with new model

This car only came out in 2017 and was replaced with the FWD 4 cylinder version in 2019. Why the need for a new model so soon?

Because the 2017 was the 2nd lci of a 2012 chassis not selling well enough.

They tried to get sales high, but normal people (not race driver nor wannbe) is buying mercedes big badge fwd boxes with all sorts of stupid infotainment and a 1.5 diesel engine from renault, and nobody but the poor drifters want one.

Sad story of the automobile, because this new thing is nowhere, and it crushes the heart of the legendary dynamic brand handling... which by other people might be otherwise hated as a dirty hooligan reputation...well deserved in many cases.

Lol, 2017... Maybe you should do a bit more research before posting about a model that is not sold in your country.

I think it sold quite well after the external facelift in 2015, I see a lot of them around here.

I already had 2 f21, and I do love this car, and I'm sad about the change.

It sold not bad, but way way behind merc A, audi A3, and most of all, sales were done without margin, having to discount heavily... because people buying this were not paying for rwd, dynamics, performance, but design, brand, infotainment and comfort,... imho

The sad thing is that there is no alternative in the market now that the F20 is gone. It was the last of its kind. If our F20 was totalled today, I would buy a second hand F20, since there are no new cars I want.
