I have to admit this is funny. Would be infuriating to be behind this guy. You just have to laugh at the level of stupid. This guy clicked yes to proceed with an over the air update on his car while it was in the carwash. You do this from the app and the owner chooses and has total control over when to do the update.

The Greens in the government have already told them tough shit. Since they don't want people driving at all, they have zero shits to give. Political pain is the only thing that will turn it around and with the indoctrination since kindergarten, unlikely.

I've been calling my car the green insanity shitbox pinto EV. Thinking about going with Big Control System now. It's shorter and has a cool ring to it.

Wait till the power grid in CA is in trouble and your Tesla "Big Control System" won't charge because the power utility has better use for the electric.

Better grid management
While today's grid impact from EV charging infrastructure is modest, demands could change rapidly. Utilities can reduce grid impact by counting on integrated software embedded in the EVs and charging locations. Integrated software allows utilities to have remote monitoring and control of the EV chargers. Operators can then aggregate and shift EV loads to balance the grid. In addition to home charging, utilities can manage the power needs of the increasing number of public, corridor and fleet charging sites on the multi-megawatt scale.

I really don't wish anything bad on anyone (maybe politicians) but when the EV folks figure out they are now part of the grid, I'm planning on a serious belly laugh and some serious "I told you so".

What Cali does with their power grid is, fortunately, no problem of mine.Cali does lots and lots and lots of dumb things.

One of the best things I do that keeps me happy is to not worry about issues that don’t affect me because there’s plenty of legit stuff with which to be concerned.

So, the grid will throttle your home level 2 charger to whatever they decide. Northern tier could wake up to no charge at all with the battery needing level 1 just to stay warm.

Dependent on which state your in, what brand your car and charger is and what your agreement with your power company is. I suspect soon EV owners will understand what "bidirectional capabilities" means.
