It’s up to you and the other mods/admin/gurus, but shouldn’t there be a bit more emphasis placed on the “Exx/Fxx/Gxx” designations being related to design language not “chassis generation”? It’s asked too frequently and answers scattered everywhere.

I’ve seen the M8 models referred to as G9x rather than F9x. I still see F91 reserved for a possible M5 Touring but that would still be a ways off if approved.

CLAR is an assembly method not a chassis, and is maturing to allow Front Longitudinal, Front Transverse, Mid-Rear Transverse with FWD, AWD, RWD and with or without electric, hybrid, or ICM only configurations all on the same line. I think you’ll find the answers to the UKL oddities in this.

Not necessarily as Li was an option before China ever seen a BMW.
Li is an option for any market (where offered and homologated), not just China.
Is that Chinese preffer more this model for its more ostentatious character.

L” stand s for Long wheelbase.
i” stand for injection (gasoline engines)

There are also Ld models - Long weheel base “d”iesel.
