My BMWs idrive system is completely gone. The screen stays black when the ignition is turned on and all the other components such as radio and CD functions are also not working. I’ve tried all the little fixes like disconnecting the battery and checking fuses. I still have the same problem but can’t seem to find anybody else with this problem on an F20. If anybody knows what the cause of this could be or how it could be fixed please let me know.

Never heard of this happening but suggest posting on other forums such as bimmerfest.com and bimmerforums.co.uk which are more popular.

Mine currently experiencing sound issue. Radio bluetooth idrive is still working but no sound.chimes gong reverse sound etc all not working..in a heavy rain it suddenly stop working....

Have you checked if the HU responds using diagnostic tool. It maybe software error or the hard drive is faulty.
You can try flashing it and see if it helps.
