why do some police patrol gated neighborhoods and hide to give tickets for things like rolling stop sign?

Is this the HOA requesting the police presence or maybe someone who lives in the neighborhood?

Just curious if it's a police decision to patrol gated neighborhoods for revenue or just a HOA or concerned citizen who requested them?

Thank you for posting that. Every time I see one of these videos it reinforces my vigilance when I'm on the road.

RIP to the four officers/deputies we lost this week across the country.

Without a doubt it's at the request of the HOA (...after receiving complaints from the residents). People must be complaining about speeding, etc.

Training is so important to developing the mindset. I still do the same shooting drills when I go to the range, you need to prepare for this with the mindset to win, to develop and maintain muscle memory. This is clear in this video that this officer trained and was prepared.

Admittedly low(er), hence more than double the expected retirements. Proactive policing is on its way out for sure and we basically just answer calls for service (...although some days I do get the urge to hunt). The new frame of mind is, "Walk, don't run", as it pertains to calls. It sucks, but that's what the climate has dictated.

That officer definitely has it. He rolled into urban prone under his cruiser to try to get a shot on the scumbag. Not many people think about shooting under cars. Or through cars.

On that note, won't a bullet travel through a car door? I realize you use what ever cover you have, but it seems like a car door is not a very safe place to hide behind.

Definitely maybe.

I've been to several classes where we shot into and out of cars with a variety of calibers and ammo. There is no magic bullet. It really depends on the construction of the car, not the construction of the bullet. If the bullet hits the window motor it will be stopped. If the bullet only hits the sheet metal, it will zip right through.

If you are on the other side of the equation, i.e. you're the one trying to shoot into or through the car, the proper response is P for Plenty. Put Plenty of rounds into the car and you might get some bullets on target.
