No. You pay less at home than superchargers charge. That’s the point. When charging at home you can get almost 1000 miles for around $20 of electricity.

I don’t believe that. That’s 3-4 complete all night charging to get 1000 miles out of a Tesla and they are the best. It gets worse with other manufacturers because they get way worse miles per charge. So you’re saying 24 hours worth of supercharging for $20??? Nope. Sorry.

You aren’t making sense. I’m not sure if you are trying to be funny. You challenged someone about spending $17 a month on electricity for charging his electric car at home for roughly 950 miles he drives monthly. I gave you the numbers to corroborate his claim.

Why do you think it's not possible? Tesla Model 3 gets between 3.5 to 4.17 miles per kWh. Let's assume 4 miles/kWh in a southern climate, so 1000 miles / 4 ml/kWh = 250 kWh. If his night electricity rate is around $0.08/kWh (possible in some lucky regions), then 250 kWh * $0.08/kWh = $20...

I showed you that the math works, it all depends on a particular household electricity rate, and there are some states that promote really low night rates to offset loads during peak hours. Just a basic Google search should show you that...

I have googled the living crap out of this and nowhere does it support anywhere near $17 for 900 miles. Nowhere. Sorry. The best I can find is 4.56 cents per mile average and they admit that to being generous. Of course that number is much higher in California and Hawaii.
