What's interesting is you'd think an electric powertrain would be ideal for Rolls Royce, but they've said their market research shows their customers have no interest.

A friend of mine is on his second leased Bentayga. Before that, he had a Continental but sold it because ongoing maintenance was just too expensive.

Electric cars don't work for him because he owns a company that buys, reconditions and sells mining equipment. There's lots of specialized, expensive and massive machinery involved.

He also has to visit sites throughout the Western USA that can be dozens of miles off paved roads and hundreds of miles, round trip, from the nearest fuel station. He thought about a Tesla X, but he'd have to tow some sort of gigantic battery/charging station to avoid getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Agree with the charging challenge.

Let's stay one stays at an AirBnB in an out of the way place in the mountains, drives at 4am to a trailhead which requires a 5 mile drive up a steep and poorly maintained road, then hikes all day and finally returns to the AirBnB at night.

No charger in the AirBnB garage, and no time or desire to find a village that might, or might not, have a charger. Then spend 30 minutes - 2 hours charging.

Doesn't work for me. This was our reality this past summer, except the vehicle was ICE (gasoline). No worries.
