Rear diff minor leak - should I be worried?

Treated the wife last November to a used 2016 F20 118i 1.5 B38. Bought from Evans Halshaw. Within a week I'd noticed a couple of small oil drops on the drive, mostly towards the rear of the vehicle. Immediately suspected the diff. Took it back to Evans Halshaw, who couldn't find anything wrong, so they took it to a BMW dealership. BMW couldn't find anything wrong either, although they cleaned up what they thought might've been "remnants of an old leak, or oil spilled during servicing". Got the car back and didn't notice any further drops for about a month, when the odd one appeared again towards the rear. Car has been an absolute joy in that time and the wife loves it, but there's always the odd little drop on the drive present.

Car was in for MOT and service yesterday at the local indy (not BMW specialist), flew through the MOT with no issues, but the mechanic remarked that the rear diff is weeping, and there is also what he thinks is a bit of a weep on the oil sump, but he couldn't confirm this without removing the bottom panels. He doesn't think the diff leak is serious, and reckons there's still plenty of oil in it, but has advised me to keep an eye on it, and that it will likely be an expensive repair cometh the day.

Should I be worried?
