Headlight assist on F20 118d Adaptive LED

Hi,

Just got a 118d 2015 model with adaptive LED headlights. Great car but cant get headlight assist to ever go to high beam. I have switched on teh lights to the auto position and the lights follow the steering direction and pushed the button on teh end of the light stalk. I get the green headlight icon light up with the "A" in it but the lights still stay on low beam all the time. Is there anything else I need to do ?

thanks !

You need to drive to a dark place, where there is no oncoming traffic.

First, make sure your high beam works at all by switching it on manually. Second, refer to the "System limits" section of the manual regarding the high-beam assistance. In the older handbook available here it's page 86.

It can be the light sensor failing. To test, turn the high-beam assistant on when the high beam is on: will it dip the lights at once? To get darkness to/beyond the limit cover the sensor. Will that keep the high beam on? Here is an instruction how to address the sensor physically if you have to: https://f20.1addicts.com/forums/show...9#post19757269.
