Any well-known Porsche mechanic in NJ area?

I have a chance to get an old school '98 Boxter for free from my uncle. Well, it's not running right now, but I'm thinking of making it my track toy. So I was wondering if anyone here knows a really trust-worthy mechanic/shop in the Tri-state area (preferably NJ) dealing specifically with Porsche cars.

As always, thanks!

Eurosport is well known on this forum too. Good to hear their name again.

I did try a few P-car forums, but many of their recommended mechanics threads were outdated... "phone number not available," "the guy doesn't work here any more," etc. But I actually have a solid list now. I called up the technical people at PCA-NNJR and they gave me some good info.

Thanks guys.

Probably the worst model year Boxster to make a track car. Why do I sense this car has a D-Chunk issue and an IMS bearing that has grenaded?

Can't help ya on what shop to use, but be careful those early Boxsters are horrific reliability wise. The only plus is you're getting it for free so you'll have cash set aside for the major repairs that will be needed.

I cannot disagree with you at all. They are infamous for those issues and then some. IMSB has not exploded yet, but prob will replace while the tranny gets rebuilt/replaced. Tranny did explode. I don't know if that was the d-clunk issue or something else, but I'll def find out.
