Screen Upgrade information Needed

I have a mid 2017 120i with the basic 6.5 screen, I want to upgrade the screen to the 8.8. However I'm running into a few issues, is it possible for me to purchase a bigger screen from ebay and plug and play with a little coding to change the resolution via bimmercode?

And how would I go about flashing my HU from ID4 to ID6, if that's possible.

I did a similar retrofit quite recently, although I was going from the old 6.5 screen to the new 6.5 LCD screen on a 2012 car. For me the retrofit was extremely straightforward and plug and play. I’d reckon it should be the same for you, with just needing to update the screw resolution via esys or BimmerCode app.
I think it’s only the larger 10.5 screens that need a new cable as they pull higher wattage.
