Coding Mirror Tilt
Hey Yall,
Been reading about this and I keep seeing different thoughts, figured I'd ask on here. My f30 does not have folding mirrors or electric seats (if it actually matters) so the mirror doesnt tilt down in reverse. I read some people have it working even though they dont have the folding mirrors either, has anyone tried activating this in BC? Thank You |

Folding and tilting are two different functions. My assumption is that if you have it you don't have to code it to get it to work. I didn't.

Ya exactly why I was confused as to why tilting would require folding (stated on some forums). Anyways got my hands on BC today so ill try to change it to active and see if that solves it hopefully

You do realize that the selector switch (for side mirror control) must be in the right position (drivers side, I believe)... for the passenger side mirror to auto tilt when reversing... right?

That's illogical. The down tilt uses the same mechanism as the mirror adjustment, so only the glass moves, not the entire mirror. Looking through the BMW Coding Database there are quite a few options related to the folding mirrors, but I don't see any having to do with the down tilt.

You do need electric folding mirrors or memory seats for this coding to work as far as I know.
So this one won’t work by coding.. |

That's true.
This question is as old as the F3x. But it only works with the folding mirrors. I assume that these mirrors have additional sensors that detect the lower position. |

Yup, it didn't work. I saw those old threads, but while reading them I saw a couple people saying they have them working without folding mirrors.
Anyways it would've been nice to have, but oh well, it was worth a shot. Coding in SAT and iDrive shutoff when door is open made me less bummed out |
