M135i UK deals...

Have searched but wanted some direct opinions!!

Made the decision to swap my 335i in for an m135i. What sort of % discount is it possible to push UK main dealers for?

Also, I presume demos are a no go given they've been raped since 0 miles and aren't that well discounted?

I heard of discounts of between 6-17%. I managed about 14%.

Pop on over to http://www.babybmw.net/viewforum.php...d814e12e287a8b and have a browse :-)

Main dealer?

Was yours particularly specked up, does this give you further negotiating power?

Did you have to squeeze hard for 15% and play dealers against each other?

How are you enjoying it compared to your previous motors? I know you've had a few tasty steeds!!

Main dealer.

Mine is fairly well specced, not sure if that makes a difference. Obviously thought I got 15% off the extras

I played two dealers against each other. But only in as much as I told my local dealer I was offer a better deal than theirs and the bettered it. I didn't keep going to and throw.

I think of the M135 as a Swiss Army knife. I does so many things very well and performance wise it's probably the best I've owned. Although it's never an M3 in terms of balance and poise. But to be fair the M3 was £60k

Glad you're enjoying it!!

I need to get out of the 335i as it knocking on 100k.

I wanted something different but knew I'd miss the engine so the m135i came along at the right time.

The biggest decision I need to make us manual v auto. My 335i was FBO manual and I love the torque through the long gears and feeling in complete control.

Test drove the 8 speed auto and whilst it was a great auto I just felt it took some of the experience away.

Also the car just seemed to be constantly gong though gears which all seemed a little frantic when pushing on.

What trans did you opt for? I'm trying to arrange a test drive of a manual so I'll guess I'll now soon enough!!

I just got a stonking great deal, sounds dumb but I haven't done the maths yet.
Long story short.
Had m135 on order found a better offer up north who smashed original deal, cancelled my original order and they made a counter offer that smashed the northern deal out the park.
Dare I say 20%! Need to work it out properly but this was done whilst on holiday which I'm still enjoying, wife wants to spend the money saved on her wardrobe, whatever!

I went for the auto. Manual wasn't bad.But I've never really been a fan of BMW manuals.

The manual box on the M135 is superb tbh (much much better than the 335)

As good as the Auto is (had it on the test drive) going manual again was probably my best decision!!
Btw it's a dry sump manual, the same as in the 1M :-)

Great to hear, as I said I've driven the auto n found it left me feeling pretty disconnected n seemed to be constantly chopping through gears...

I've heard that the manual is straight out of the m1 so keen to get a test drive, just struggling to find a manual demo!!

In real world everyday driving situations would you say the manual feels much slower than the auto?

Also if I go for the stick I can tick a few more items off the options list, HC stereo, heated seats n poss the sunroof.

I personally would say that I did not notice a huge difference in driving the demo Auto and now owning a manual. I also think that there is always a perceived speed difference in driving auto then manual of any car.

The best thing you can do is go and test drive the manual... if you can't get a new demo then try searching for a used one for sale and demo that. Looking on the BMW website it seems that Doncaster have one for sale.

Got a couple of other local dealers to try, but will revert to used demos as you mentioned if all else fails.

I just ordered a M135i last week and got nearly 20% of the book price with options (19.5% to be exact).

Played a few dealers off each other and gave them some competition. I think 16% is pretty doable and if you get the right dealer maybe some more.

They sold my M135i today - last drive to work in it tomorrow. Gutted to say the least....looks like a 328i next.
