Welcome home lighting
Perhaps very easy, but it I cannot make it work...
The onboard manual is not that very clear as well. Who of you guys can tell me how to switch on the welcome home lighting function. So, that if you arrive on your destination the lights are on for a fixed period of time. I have Xenon with light and rain sensor. Switch is on automatic.

I think the Welcome light feature lights up the car when you unlock it, while the feature LUV2XLR8-NL wants is what BMW calls Follow Me Home or something like that. If the car has it, it should be possible to adjust the delay in a settings menu in the iDrive system.

As far as I know there are 2 types of "coming home" lights:
1. Turn on the switch for your headlights (or set it to automatic - the light symbol with the A above it). When you arrive at your destination, turn off the engine and leave the lights switch on. The lights will stay on as long the car is unlocked. After locking the lights will go off. 2. You can also let the headlights stay on for a certain time. The manual says the following about this: If the headlight flasher is activated after switching off the ignition, the low-beam headlights illuminate and remain for a certain time. You can set this via: Settings -> Lights -> Home lights The first one works fine for my old 1 series. The second one I cannot test because it has no iDrive |

THNX, the catch for me was completly turn off the car. Was used to stop the engine, music still on, grab my things from the back seat and than lock the car ;-)
