Which interior do you like better, old M2 or the new M2Cs interior?

It wasnt a MT vs DCT thread since both are offered with a MT.

I think the early dash is more driver oriented, reminds me the of the e46, e36 and e30's dash.

The new one is very old Buick like.

Well in all honesty, that basic 2-series interior doesn't look much different than the interior in my M4 lol. I think the seats are really the only big difference?

I like the interiors though!

I think it’s a wash for me. I like the M4 style seats which make it more M-ish. I prefer the older lines in the dash. I like the newer digital gauges but the steering wheels look almost identical as is almost everything else including the crooked seats.

I used a DCT pic earlier, i didn't know it was going give the impression it was a MT vs DCT thread.

I wish they kept the old dash!

A serious question; does the screen fold down, or is that how it is? Although the E9x interior has the hump, this layout somehow seems as if the screen was an afterthought. It almost seems like a tablet was placed there for no reason than to put a screen somewhere.

The new one looks like GM with silver trim everywhere. Thumbs down from me because I prefer non-distracting, non-shiny, driver-focused interiors..

Aside from the seats they are so similar I don't think you can love one and hate the other.

I voted OG M2 because that's what I have and because I see a little too much silver in the M2c interior. I like the look of the M2c seats but I would have to sit/drive in them to know if I actually prefer them. The M2 seats are very supportive and comfy and I was surprised how great they were on my 700 mi drive home.

The carbon trim on the LCI is weird how it just ends on the right and the space between this and the vent is not even.

Pre LCI looks better,feels like a proper sports car design when you are sitting in the car.I have sat in a MY18 LCI M2 and the dash design really changes the feeling in the interior.The flat dash just doesn’t feel as sporty as the original design.The old school M gauges also look way better IMO.I find the M seats very uncomfortable.The original M2 Seats are very comfortable,they just don’t hold you in as tightly as the M seats.I much prefer the M seats that were in my E46 M3 compared to the current M seats.

"OG" M2 seats have the thigh support piece that extends (which I absolutely love since I have long legs), and you can use a Schroth QuickFit harness with the OG seats which will hold you in way better than the M2C seats ever will. You can also adjust the amount of "hug" from the side bolsters on the OG... I don't know if that feature exists in the new seats?

Functionally, the original seats are superior. I do agree that the M2C ones look cooler though.

I am not a fan of what they did with the dash layout though - agreed that the asymmetry of it looks strange. The LCI gauges are a big improvement IMO. But they aren't "digital"!!

Quoting myself... just realized my 18 lci looks a lot more like the M2c picture than the OG. Oh well, like them both.
