Well, since nobody else is brave enough to throw this out there, and with the $1500 number in mind:

DisneyWorld

I'd definitely go to the Amalfi coast over any all inclusive. Minori, Positano, Maiori, Revello, Island of Capri. Hotel Santa Lucia recommended.

we've been to all of the couples resorts on jamaica and liked them all, but couples negril is our favorite -- for those who dont know, "couples" is the name of the hotel brand...and i believe they are still family owned and take great pride in their level of service.

i would not categorize them as super-luxury, but they are very nice and service is great. way more low key and relaxing than many AIs that pump dance and party music all day. nothing wrong with the party vibe if that's what you want.

marriott has some nice properties in aruba with the stellaris being the most high-end.

cambridge beaches in bermuda has a phenomal location and you cant go wrong with the st. regis there either.

Couples Swept Away in Negril. Jamaica. Book a second floor room in one of the 2 story buildings and you will never look back. Disneyland for adults. Book the air flight from Montego Bay to Negril and you are now a rock star.... Enjoy.
Ya'man, respect.

Turks and Caicos. They have some amazing restaurants there but not sure about AI. The water is some of the most gorgeous I have seen besides Exuma, Bahamas. Exuma would be another option if you wanted to stay at Sandals.

It's incredibly hard for me to recommend an AI. I need to try and stay at one again to see if it changes my mind.

It's so funny since I just got back from St. Regis Bora Bora last week, celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary.

FWIW, it was the BEST vacation I've ever been on, BY FAR. I've been to all the Hawaiian Islands, but never been to Cancun, Turks, Bahamas, Maldives.

What sets this apart from all the others is the butler service. Exceptional service at all hours of the day. We stayed at one of the over-the-water bungalows, which was pretty far from the main beach, pool and restaurants. You can call the butler at any hour to give you a golf-cart ride to and from your bungalow.

Water was crystal clear. NOT crowded at all. Weather was perfect, not too hot. I was expecting Hawaii hot, but that was not the case.

Travel time was only 8 hours from LAX. Maldives would be at least double that, so that was out of the picture for us. Time difference was only 3 hours also, so no jet lag.

I stayed at that resort in Exuma within 3 months of opening, back in 2004. It was a Four Seasons resort at the beginning. Spectacular - though they were still having some new hotel pains - staff training issues etc. But what incredible blue water!

I read someplace recently that Sandals has let it slide somewhat, allegedly it's in need of a refresh.

Hard no.

I am all for a european trip (you people complaining about 7 hr flights kill me) but the Amalfi Coast is an absolute debacle. It is so busy it's lost all it's joy unless you can absolutely nail the right time of year.

Heading to Nashville next week for our 20th.
Covid killed our European trip, so for now its on the back burner.
We just got back a few weeks ago from our 3rd year at " Figure 8 Island "- right off the coast- near Wilmington, NC - found it during Covid. Great luxury rental homes and lots of privacy. For an amazing vacation there's a huge house that's 50k /week minimum 2 week stay

Heading to Cancun in February. So many all inclusive choices. Not sure what's what and the reviews vary so much. Looking for all inclusive, adult only, luxurious property with option for airport pickup/drop-off. Suggestions based on RECENT (within past couple years) experience? Can be resort or hotel property. Thanks.

It’s our 20th wedding anniversary next month, and I was just going to take my wife out for a nice Chinese. Maybe I should up my game!

Secrets the Vine.
Great location, food and wine geared, next to Hard Rock. Multiple pools, great beach and close enough, yet far enough from town

Appreciate the feedback. Just booked at the Vine for a honeymoon suite. We're long time Sandals folks so looking forward to comparing the 2. First time trying Secrets.
