About to order my first BMW!
I am in the decision process of ordering my first BMW This has been a dream for me for a long time and it's fantastic finally being able to buy my dreamcar.
The car in question is a 2014 F20 116i M-sport, and I'm more or less finished to decide what spec I will go for. However, I have a question about High-Beam assistance. Is it worth it? Does it work well? If someone have selected this option it would be great to read some experiences |

Our F20 116i M-Sport has high beam assistance and Xenon lights that turn with the front wheels. My wife likes the high beam assistance, and I think it is okay. It is surprisingly well implemented, but I generally like to have full manual control of most things. I use it now and then.
The high beams are either on or off, nothing in between, unlike the expensive system on the F30. |

The key word here is "assistance". It isn't designed to take the place of a human driver and you will occasionally find yoursef having to manually dip the beams. It is nice, however, knowing that nine times out of ten it will beat you to it, and you're far less likely to dazzle people because you forgot your high beams were on.
The other thing I like is that whenever High beam is on, the lights tilt slightly to the left (in the UK) to avoid dazzling oncoming vehicles. Very often people will flash you simply because you have your full-beams on, regardless of whether or not you're actually dazzling them. |

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I may choose High Beam assistance instead of Concierge Services as I originally had selected. Since I'm not going to have Navi Proffesional, I have found out that it's not going to be very useful.
I think I will have much more use for the H B assistance |

I have adaptive headlight which comes with HBA. While the adaptive headlights are awesome I think HBA is a waste of time. Mine are about 0.5 second too late in dipping IMO. But at least you can leave them switched off.
