Honestly, the car is SICK and the model is pretty hot, but something just doesn't jive with me when you both together that way.

well, considering she was likely a paid model, as long as rodi calls one up, he can have one that hot easily.

as for getting his hands on the car, i'm sure if he took his portfolio to a dealership and showed them the pictures he's capable of taking, they would put the car anywhere he wanted as long as they could have the pictures.

maybe he was having a bad day? i've seen the OP's photos on flickr. some of them are really good. but these are not that. perhaps further exaggerating my opinion on the photos is the fact that the car is so nice.

here, i'll back my opinion up with some reason.

1. The framing is wack. What are we trying to show here? The car? The logo? The ugly red shoe? Her exaggerated toe? The logo and the shoe are nearly dead-center frame - while centering is perfectly fine sometimes, here it doesn't work because there is nothing else in frame that supports this decision. Slow down and think about what you're trying to show. Either show more of the wheel or don't show it at all. It's like cutting of a model's fingers out of the frame. And the lighting is really boring.

2. This one is not as bad, but the crotch-level shot isn't really working here. The key-light is boring again. Her head is lost to the black background due to her dark hair. That open door (that's cut off at the tip - tsk tsk) could have been used to an advantage angle-wise, but wasn't.

3. Lol. What is this look on her face? Shows her flaws as a model - jacked up. Were there other shots in this series where her face looked better? What were the photographer's thoughts when we chose this pose?? You've got a door frame framing the model, yet you don't use the door frame to your advantage in the framing of the shot.

4. Nice fuzzy arm. I didn't see anything else. Light ratios are good, though. Same framing issues.

5. Why is this is portrait orientation? Let's further accentuation this discontinuous dead-space with logo placement. You could have moved over a bit, framed it naturally ("landscape"), and gotten the sweeping lines of the car. Instead, we have a bunch of slivers of things. Might as well crop this in post to just her face.

6. Same as 2. Except, bigger crotch.

7. Learn how to focus and recompose. Quickly. Before she puts her arm in a more natural position. The framing here is horrible. Her pose is horrible. Lighting is boring.

8. She's wondering how long you're going to take to make the photograph, how long she has to hold her arm in an awkward position. At least clone out that softbox.

She's not a great model. She as a seemingly wonderful body, but that's it. She's better suited for posing in front of car shows in a parking lot.

The car is just in the background here, and that's a shame. I would have framed for the car, and anywhere the model appeared, she still would have popped out - noticeably. But if these are framed for the model as the subject, while the lighting is not bad, the framing is awful. Take your time, don't rush, think about your frame before you take the shot. What are you wanting to show when you hit that shutter button? When you're able to answer that question, that's when you can take the shot - after checking the entire frame. No, it doesn't take that long - it's instant - should become second nature. Not just firing off shots because your focus is done and the model is hot and you have her tits center-frame.
