Gruppe M - RAM Air for F20 M135i

All,

I had one in my X5 years ago, this thing really rocks.
However the price is high as always for GruppeM stuff

I'm based in Japan and saw one installed in the shop yesterday - looks gorgeous in the otherwise dull looking engine bay, and supposedly adds about 10hp according to the company dyno info but at double the price of the Kellnesers ECU upgrade which provides 54hp, I think I will do the GruppeM later...

Ok chaps.

Since you asked for it I'll try and layout all my mods and the respective gains achieved at each stage. Obviously these weren't all tested on the same rolling road and on the same day and the car will have loosened up over time but hopefully it should give all those interested an insight into what's possible. These numbers are all backed up by dyno plots, most of which I was present for...Please don't shoot the messenger or start a dyno flame-war; we all know how unreliable a lot of dyno data can be...

0. Stock; 322 hp, 334 ftlb

1. Scorpion catback exhaust to replace OEM system; 334 hp, 340 ftlb

2. Scorpion decat DP added to TBE above; 342 hp, 358 ftlb

3. JB4 Map 2 added to above; 378 hp, 440 ftlb

4. Forge FMIC and BOV added, dropped IAT from 60 degC to 30 degC; 394 hp, 450 ftlb

5. ????

Majority of these tunes should work with a 2013 N55 135i right? Engine designation is identical though I'm sure the ECU is different in some ways.

CPA Powerbox Nitto claims big power and can do custom maps apparently. Send them a mod list and they tweak the tune loaded on the hardware. Made in Germany

For UK guys I see that Thorney Motorsport have just released their own tuning box;

http://www.thorney.ms/tuning-box-template-2506.html

Apparently designed and developed in-house to their specs, it might be a good option to the JB4?

Yep. They seem to have cracked the E55 ECU coding that has seen Cobb and many others off. That's why I'm very tempted.

only "original tool" for custom remap have g-power in USA... others tuner still have problem with flexray, when you touch values, sw see that changes and do not let the car to start (model of security sistem)

I do not believe this is true. There are some german tuning companies that can do full ECU tuning like E series models. But they currently still charge a lot because there is not many companies that can do it.

maybe they also "buy" official this tool... or maybe they have "cracked" sw...

anyway its very hard to do, that why cost a lot because only few of them can do it

Hello, a friend of mine who ordered a RaceChip Pro2 for his M135i (M135i - 326hp/240kw), sold his car and never installed the chip so offered it to me but I am not sure it will be compatible with my car... (M135i - 320hp/235kw)
Does anybody have an idea regarding this???
