My ridiculously rare (in the USA) Norwegian Forest Cat.

Wegiekatt Maximilian of Hammett.

Mom was from Charlotte NC. Dad was from Denmark. He is still a kitten at 16lbs. Full grown, he should way close to 30lbs.

Some pics of him with his summer coat, much fluffier in the winter.

Yep, Luna's dad is the golden and her mom was the standard. Met both of them, wanted to take the dad home but they wouldn't let me.

I rescued Lucy the German Shepherd on Saturday. Malnourished and terrible double ear infections. Actually took her to the emergency room because she was in pain.

Very nice. My dad had three BC's before he passed. I used to go with him to sheep herding trials and to agility trials. He was a national winner. Love those dogs.

It's sad to see so many Border Collie rescues, but not uncommon. The BC is one of the smartest dog breeds on earth, and as such, must be constantly stimulated mentally. Many people don't know this that get one and quickly realize that if you don't find something for a BC to do, they will find something on their own - and chances are, you won't like it - lol.

I feel like there should be some sort of vetting process to own a BC, since they are such wonderful dogs but so many people get them thinking they will act like a shiztu.

There is a vetting process with the rescue services. These are dogs that need to be inside, with the owners, when not herding. We think our dog was an outside dog, who tunneled his way to freedom because he was bored. Our only problem was when I played football in the front or back with my boys. The dog destroyed the blinds at the window he was watching us from. Solution,: He now gets to play with us, as the all time free safety.

I've had mine since he was a puppy. He has been an awesome dog, very smart and extremely loyal. He's slowed down a bit, he used to be able to jump through the window of my Jeep and sit in the front seat.
