IMO, you ruin what the Evo is when you put a turbo that big on it. Evo's are supposed to be fast in a straight line, but also brake and turn. Once you go with a turbo this big, it becomes straight line only.

I just think it's amazing how strong the motors are. The stock block will handle 550whp all day long if you keep the revs down.

The Evo trans is just as impressive. All these 900-1000whp Evo's are on the stock trans. They are rebuilt with tighter tolerances, but that's about it. Stock gears, stock synchros... This car does have a $4000+ clutch on it though..

Anyway, just wanted to share the latest monster Evo with you guys!
Yes, I agree. At this point, it's all about the wow factor, just like the 1000+WHP Supras out there. And like the AMS Evo, it becomes strictly 1/4 car.

You guys who say "it's going to break down in a few months" are hilarious. The thumb rule is that the more you do to your car, the more likely it is going to break down. Of course this thing is going to have problems down the line, it's putting out almost 4x the stock output. The fun part is rebuilding the broken parts and getting the car back in shape.

My ultimated plan to modify the Evo would be to go with the FPgreen turbo, or go stroker kit and keep the stock IX turbo. Driven Evos with both set up and the lag is very minimal...drives like stock with a lot more punch through out the powerband. I'd be happy with 400whp/400wtq. I was only 100whp shy when I had my VIII, lol.

Well it may fall apart and break down,..but I dont think this car is built to run to grandmas house in Miami and back from across country. Its built for racing and like most all racing engines it gets tuned and rebuilt and/or maintained after every race. Did you look inside the car,...the entire thing was built for speed and virtually nothing on it was stock from the looks of it. It is a pure drag racing machine from what I can tell. It is not a street legal car. I think we aught to just for someone that was able to achieve THAT level of power from that engine. I remember seeing a video of a 1000whp Ford GT (albeit not strictly a dragster) and was impressed but to me this is even MORE impressive.
