Car vacuum that doubles as a good house vac?

Anyone here have or know of a good hand vacuum that is great at both getting into those hard to reach crevices in cars (ie between the seats and the door, etc) but would still double as a good portable home vac?

My Black and Decker handheld dustbuster just bit the dust (pun intended) and I've been wanting a good car vac for a while so wondering if I can hit two birds with one stone.

Dyson Animal is my home vacuum. It works great for the car as well. Not cheap but it's got enough battery life to vacuum 1500 sq foot house and lots of suction.

I have two, but they are a bit clumsy for doing the car.

A ShopVac is not something I'd (and certainly not my wife) would want to be using in the house on a regular basis. OP asked for something that can be used for both. Plus the Dyson has a small carpet attachment great for cleaning floor mats and the trunk.

I find the blower portion of the shop vac excellent for doing under car seats and clearing out crevices.

Miele makes some nice canister vacs that double for both home and car, Bed Bath and Beyond sometimes has pretty good sales on them.

Thing with Dyson animal is battery life at full power - so google that.

My Dyson Animal is about 3 years old and gets lots of use, on full power it will give you a solid 10 mins, on regular power its about 30 min which is enough to do my 1500 sq ft house. The thing is nice and compact and has attachments that although probably weren't intended for use in the car seem to fit the bill quite well.

Definitely not in the house unless it’s a project.
But it is handy to have in the garage. It’s one of those tools that no guys garage should be without.

My wife got my a Dyson V7 Car+Boat Vacuum Cleaner for Christmas and I love it. I use it for my car and for around the house to pick up dust bunnies or to vacuum the chairs or stairs, not as a main vacuum as we have a Big Boi dyson for that

Highly recommend

I have a quite a few vacuums around the house, and I actually all of them. I don't think I could have just one vacuum that does everything:
- Ridgid shop vac for vacuuming cars, and other "dirty" work
- Ridgid shop vac for blow drying the car (use a concentrater for this, works great)
- Black & Decker Dustbuster (thing is amazing, and bulletproof)
- Dyson DC14
- Dyson V6 Animal

Which one can get into all the tight crevices between seats/consoles in the car etc the best?
