![]() Back to the update....it does look a lot better, it's how it probably should have always looked. It's interesting how these mid-life updates are becoming much more material, they use to be a simple light redesign or small subtle style change (a change which my mum/wife/non car lover couldn't notice). All brands are spending much more on updating throughout a models life. I had a Land Rover Discovery (wife's car), 2013 model which saw a new gearbox, and a number of other things added, only for them to completely change the front 9 months later, even though a new model is due out soon. I just changed this Discovery for a Range Rover Sport, got an MY15 model, only just to learn that from May they are adding more features /updates... Cars are updated like bloody phones these days!! |

I've been looking at it since I was revealed and I still think for the most part the m-sport looks worse, only improvement are the front lights and the M135i now looks ridiculous at the front with those silver things around the vents

I also agree that the M-Sport didn't improve much, but the non M-Sport looks a lot better in LCI version. |

This looks much nicer... I guess we finally found out where BMW redirect ALL its 6er LCI design force to~

Looks great like this:

This is for me the LCI “evolution” of the M135i: the front end developed some kind of rictus, becoming the same with all the other models in the BMW line. Meanwhile, the lower lateral vents lost the middle line and became larger and more accentuated by the grey plastic all around, only to show other large panels of black non functional (except a little space for the intercooler on the right one) plastic. Oh, looking more carefully it does seem to have some utility, one of the parking sensors is now in that vent, black plastic of course, I guess it should be cheaper then painted. More interesting, in the real photo I don’t see anymore the two brake air ducts present on any M-sport kit and of course on the M135i, at least until know… if it’s true, BMW is really sticking to its (very bad) course of lowering costs and selling image and badges for the masses.
The back I find it a good match between a Korean car and a trendy (and totally useless) compact SUV… it perfectly “suits” the specific model and the same direction of the ultimate marketing machine, doing very well the transition to the “real thing”, the era of SUVs and mini vans of the future FWD 1 series. Maybe I’m a little harsh and subjective, but I really don’t like the direction in which BMW is heading with its models, I really do hope the M2 will bring some fresh air in this context, other way, I think our ways won’t cross again soon… Last edited by flyaway; 01-26-2015 at 01:59 PM.. |

I spotted an info that is not 100% true regarding the color options! Estoril blue will be available for all c.c. in Europe as long as the M pack is selected as previously! Probably for some other countries it may be as stated in the opening post!

I'm not a fan of the face lift with it's softer front look and added red lights at the rear of the M Sport.
