118i - Adaptive LED + High-beam Assistant - Any drawbacks?

Hi,

Im planning to buy an 118i with Adaptive LED + High-beam Assistant.

However i read something about that the adaptive led was not working as good in the F20 as in ex. F30. Is that true? In such case what is not working correct? (I read something about light dancing or something like that and an icon on the instrument board that is missing...)

I think the F20 has only on/off, instead of trying to map the light around oncoming traffic.

But thats the high beam assistant I guess?

The adaptive led front lights must be doing something different...

Yes, they aim the light into the corners when you turn the steering wheel.

So no light splitting when driving on the highway?

Not unless this feature has been added very recently. I think BMW wants it to be unavailable in the 1 series, to make people want to buy the 3 series.

Ah that's proberly correct. But how can i be 100% sure that it's not added? BMW are running some campaigns for the 1 series right now, so maybe they have upgraded some specs..

I guess the BMW dealer should be able to find out. Sometimes BMW adds a lot of extra options just when a car model is on its way out, to be able to sell them when there is a new model coming. I don't think the F20/F21 is there yet, as the new one series has not yet been shown. Besides, a lot of BMW enthusiasts will think that they need to buy the F20/F21 before the rear wheel drive is gone.
