Loud Rattle and grind noise above 3k rpm g80

I can’t pin i! It happened after I made a hard U-turn so I thought it was some drive terrain issue but it started coming on when car is stopped as well. It only comes up above 3000-3500 rpm and it stays there till it reaches idle rpm. Noise is so loud it can be heard from any angle but hard to pin. Car drives fine no codes no loss of performance. 6 speed.https://streamable.com/env67r?src=player-page-share

Nothing I can see. I’m assuming it’s belt tensioner or some pulley since it happens on high rpm? Also noticed clutch pedal is bit rough.

It’s going to BMW this Monday will see what they come up with.

If the car is still driving alright it might be a small issue nothing too serious, but I wouldn’t push the car let it sit might be something wirh the internals being loose or something falling apart

So bmw is telling me it’s coming from bell housing area but they don’t know the cause until they take it a part. Car is under warranty but they’re saying I might need to pay for wear and tear parts like the clutch. Car has 18k miles clutch hooks up good as if the car is new so I doubt it’s the clutch!

Looks like your clutch assembly and possibly flywheel has cried enough.

A rivet the holds one of the drive straps on pressure plate came loose on one side. On high revs the piece would expand and touch the bell housing wall. Dealer denied warranty claims since it was part of clutch system and considered wear and tear part but after going back and forth with bmw corp they sent an engineer over and agreed it was a failed part and covered by manufacturer warranty. Cost would be $20k+ for a new clutch setup and new transmission. Transmission is fine and car was driving fine, clutch , fw ,tb and everything in that area is fine except PP and scratches on bell housing wall but they want to replace everything for safety concerns. I was like it’s ok with me if it’s covered.
