I ordered a white initially, but changed it to Estoril. It is a very difficult question this one. I have always liked the original Estoril on the E36 and had a Monte Carlo blue on a X5M, so I've always liked that shade of blue. To be frank, you can't go wrong with either!

I love the blue, but fancied white for a change as all my cars up to now have been dark colours. Greys and blacks. The blue looks amazing on the msport with the matching blue trim. Even the orange which I hate normally (focus ST drivers grr) looks good esp. with tinted glass.

@elstoof: You're right. Here at my place I see tons of white Beemers and most of them look terrible with dirt on them, like you said, but never saw one EB. Thats why I think it would be the right choice to go for it.
Which color would be your choice then?
I got mine in Sept 2012 --------3 month wait

Do you have the M-Package?
Does your X3 have the 8 speed Auto?

I picked up my 125i (estoril blue, black leather) and the auto transmission is magic. This car is really fun to drive.

I have always been a manual sort of driver, but this 8 speed auto is really something special.

PS You are right with your colour selection. The white looks nice when perfectly clean. After that, it just looks average.

If you trust yourself to keep it immaculately clean throughout the year then you can't look past black or white. Either of those colours are unbeatable when they've been freshly washed and polished.

If you can't trust yourself to get the hose out every week then go for Estoril or Valencia. I'm very tempted to order Valencia orange myself, due to the fact pretty much every 1 series and 3 series in my town is Estoril blue. That isn't to say I don't wash my cars, just my last cars were white and black respectively

I think a dirty white car looks less dirty than a dirty dark car. And a white car demands washing and polishing MUCH less than a dark car. I have some experience in this, combined with a sometime OCD tendency

That can be quite true. I have no experience with white cars, but I'm currently driving my second saphire black bmw and while its an amazingly beatiful colour when clean, its an absolute pain to keep it that way! I currently wash my car 2x a week to keep it good looking! And you see everything on it!
Might go for a VO one next time

I think the EB2 with M Sport brakes is the best combo!

I know Mineral White is a great color, my dad had a 3-series in MW, but it's not available with the M-Package, which is a must have for me.

@elstoof: As I said M-Package is a must have! Do you think the non-auto climate control is enough? Because I would take the auto-control.

You guys with EB: Does the paiting like "shine" in the sun? If you know what i mean, sorry for my english.

@boutan: My dad now has an X3 35d with the 8 speed-sport-auto and it's phenomenal!! Absolutely stunning! But i guess with the engine of the 116i it's not as much fun as with your 125i, so i will definitely take a manual.

I see that most of you would take EB over AW. The washing wouldn't be a problem for me, because I like washing my car.

After reading all your posts and looking at all pictures from another thread, I made my choice and it will be Estoril Blue. It's a special color, which I don't see often or never here at my place and it looks absolutely stunning with the M-Package.

Thank you all very very much for your help! It's great that I get so much answers on such a "stupid" question, so thank you again!
Have a good time, I wish you a happy Easter!

Over here M Sport comes with automatic climate control already rather than the standard air conditioning.

On the contrary, the 8-speed A/T is great even with 116i and I love it! If you have the chance to test drive an 116i with A/T, you will see for yourself. I've tested both before the purchase and even though I love M/T, with A/T I thought that I was driving a much better car (this is only my opinion though)!

I vote for Alpine White....but I'm biased! :P

Seriously, I wouldn't have chosen any other colour for my 116i. It looks fresh, and to put it simply, you can't go wrong with a White car. Although, I do love EB....its signature for the M Sport. Still, I'd put my money on Alpine White :P

P.S as for the cleaning, White does keep better than darker colours. My brother has an R32 in that signature blue similar to EB....and literally an hour after you wash it it gets dust on it and you need to wash it every week because it shows marks easy

They are aftermarket lol. When I ordered the car, I got a price for them from the factory and nearly fell of my chair, so shopped around and found these from a wheel shop in Melbourne. I had to get new centre caps though because the ones that came with the wheels were fake. I've been really happy with them, they look great! Completely change the look of the car entirely.
