Those are super cars though. Did you mean you wish the M8 was also going to be a super car to directly compete with the R8 and the AMG GT? Because it's not going to be a super car so it won't compete against those.

2016 minus 10 years would be 2006. Even with the recession in 2008, people who could afford this car still would buy it.

I meant a flagship M car to compete with the likes of the MB SLR/SLS and an Audi R8 a decade back.

I have to agree - I don't see the point of yet another heavy coupe GT car that costs a fortune.

If I ever spend close to 100k on a car it won't be a slick 2 door limo, it'll be a second hand R8, Turbo S or McLaren... (Unless the i8 evolves into something super). It will certainly not be a car that'll be worth 20k after 10 years

M8 sounds good! Wonder if there will be an 8-series coupe and sedan and what about an X8? Or will the X be the X7? BMW is going to have to publish one of those posters showing every model as I'm starting to forget them all.

The 6er Gran Coupe is the 8-series sedan to me. I think it competes with the Rapid

Am I the only one who thinks that all these new cars that they're coming out with are really rehashed versions of previous cars? Why don't they just grow some testicular appendages and make less models and make each one better than what exists? BMW used to be the leader of the pack, now I wish I could say they're in the middle of the pack but in some regards they're at the back of the pack. What most of us wouldn't give to have a true BMW Supercar the way the M3 used to be the supercar instead of watered-down versions of what used to be. Yes i8 is forward thinking but I'm afraid it's out there on it's own...
