They look great and I'm sure you will love how they perform! Did your pedal feeling change? Mine became really spongy after upgrading from normal (not Msport) to these M Performance ones and I'm looking for a solution. Any ideas?

Spongy brakes are usually caused by air in hydraulics. Needs to be bled again.

Pedal feel is superb - F8x MP pads, HEL braided lines and DOT5 fluid.
Car will get MP BBK coding next time it goes to dealer for a service.

Got a slight issue with handbrake which I need to resolve [wrong part # for rear discs] and then I will be able to use these brakes properly

I went to the dealer twice after the upgrade for proper bleeding but nothing is changed. I think it is something to do with pads or master cylinder since it has to deal with more pistons than it had before. Looking for my options now.

I have Stoptech SS brake lines and Motul RBF600. I will give F8x pads a chance before upgrading my master cylinder than. Do you know the part numbers for master cylinders BMW uses on cars with normal brakes and Msport ones? Are they different or the same part used in both?

I think this could be the first picture on internet of a Valencia Orange F20 LCI M-Sport with style 381 winter wheels. It replaced our 2012 116i.

Congratulations! The winter wheels are just like mine (different tyres though, I guess). But what's behind them? The brakes you condemned as "too big" for you? Did you change your mind or is it a "forced" deal?

I changed my mind. They are rather cheap, so it would seem a bit silly not to check that option.

The braking is better, the visual aspect is also a big plus!
How is the general feeling of the car with the new engine?
VO looks even better on the LCI! Congrats!

I haven't really tested the full potential of the engine, since it it still being run in. First impression is that it performs very similar as the N13B16. I prefer the sound of the B38, but it seems a bit shaky under 1400 RPM.

The iDrive menus have evolved quite a bit since 2012. Lots of new items in there, like Sport Displays, bluetooth audio, DAB album art and so on. There is also a new instrument under the RPM gauge, showing the fuel consumption. like in older BMWs. The car rev matches when shifting, and I can select both limiter and cruise control from the steering wheel.

Be careful with the M Sport front driving over bumps or slopes as I hit the bottom of my front bummer twice and will need painting. I never had any problem with my 2012 116i

I'll be interest in your fuel consumption as I cannot get my 2015 116i under 7.4 over a months running without resetting and hasn't changed since new with 11,000s on the clock.

Is the front any lower than the pre LCI version? Looks quite similar.
The 116i was consuming well under 7 L/100 km, and the B38 should be even less thirsty, according to BMW. We'll see.

After i get the 18"s i will bring them to be professionaly dipped .. i do like the mate look over the shinny , but i agree that the look small as for now! =)

Thanks for the reference links .. those look big and shinny indeed!

Cheers!

Jon,

I have the same wheels on my F21 as you and I'm thinking to plasti dip them.
You said that you applied 10 layers. Can you pls tell how many cans did you need for that? I havent dipped anything yet, thats going to by my first time so I dont really have any experience.
Also as for durability...does it started to peal off already? do you see any signs of wear and tear?

Thanks

Why does your upper left LCI wheel button say "Set", and mine says "Lim"?

A sanity check? A code? If not (excuse my interfering), a "stupid" direct answer is here: steering wheel bmw m4 in bmw f21.

A more precise picture (non-"Active Cruise Control with "Stop and Go" function", no contrast stitching, excuse shift pedals though):

And it's a perfect replacement for the previous one, incidentally.
