125i M sport making more power than claimed!!

Hi Guys

I came across this after doing some research around the 328i N20 motor

http://www.supersprint.com/en/prod-p...hp_2012__.aspx

as opposed to BMWs claim of 160kw at the crank
this vehicle is making 170kw at the wheels which
equates to roughly 200kw at the crank.

very impressive indeed , makes me even more glad
that i settled on the 125i

seems to tie in closely with the 328i results too!

Did you find your 125i got faster as it got run in?

I'm not that impressed with the performance (but my car is only on 800km), coming from a GTI which supposedly made 147kw but was said to actually make closer to 160kw.

Looking at that graph it looks to me that it says 127.6kW on the weels. Cant read German though, so might be wrong.

It does say that the 170 is at the crank and only 127,6 on the wheels.

I think the drivetrain power loss is highly overrated from this dyno. With 127.6 kW at the wheels, there is no way there can be 170 kW at the crank.
Just for reference, our 116i had 102 kW at the rear hubs.

There is definitely something odd with the drivetrain loss on this dyno.
The 125i's output at the wheels is supposed to be a lot more than just 127kw.
127kw at the wheels is closer to what people have been coming up with a stock 118i. Anyway, supersprint is pretty reputable, so really I don't know what to think.
