Hello! I've got a quick question regarding the infotainment system in the 1 series because I find it extremely confusing. I've read the threads regarding the different combinations and what each combination allows you to do but I've been reading so many different opinions on what lets you do what.
I've ordered the professional navigation (609) and the connectivity, Bluetooth and USB devices option (6NK). I've been reading about options 6NL and 6NH and I can't quite piece together them together. With the options I've chosen, will I be able to: 1. Connect iPhone through Bluetooth and use it as a phone and stream music at the same time? 2. Connect iPhone via BT and use that as a phone, connect iPod via Bluetooth for audio streaming? 3. Use the iPod USB cable to stream music? 4. See the music album art on the screen? And what does the 6NF option add? (Telephone USB audio interface) I'm really sorry that I'm asking this again, I'm sure many of the people on the forum are tired of hearing this question in particular, but I'm hoping you're all a nice bunch of people

If I recall correctly:
* 1,3,4: Yes. * Don't know what you mean with 2... didn't know iPods had bluetooth?? * 6NF is mainly the preparation for the snap-in adapter in the armrest. You will also need the snap in adapter on top of it. You need this at least for the BMW Apps stuff and to use the shark fin antenna. * 6NL is the same as 6NK, but with BMW Assist preparation. In some markets, you can't get 6NK, only 6NL or 6NH. * 6NH is the basic bluetooth without music streaming or other fancy stuff. You can still connect your iPod via the Y cable with this option.

The iPod touch has bluetooth. I'm asking because my brother's Golf R can connect his phone (BB) and my iPod via bluetooth, with my iPod being used for music streaming.
Is the 6NF worth bugging my dealer requesting them to put it in? I've already submitted my final list of options but I still haven't received a confirmed date.

Well, without it you can't spec BMW Apps... Maybe not interesting now but who knows what will be developed later (for example 3th party nav apps..)
If I had already invested in nav pro and extended BT, I'd add it as it's not that expensive compared to the rest of the system. - Rick

BMW Apps don't work where I live. It's such a buzz kill. I'll e-mail my dealer asking him if it's possible to add it.
Thanks a lot Rick!
