Also it depends on the heat settings in your car, outside temperature and engine temp!

Basically, it needs to be above 3c outside, the inside air temp needs to be as per desired temp and the engine has to have warmed up (approx 5 mins city driving for me).

If I sit at lights and the engine has turned off, changing the aircon temp can restart the engine.

d) Engine not yet warmed up
e) Battery charge low
f) Directly after car was driven in reverse
g) Stering wheel is turned after car has stoped
h) Stop and Go traffic ( At least three stops made in short succession at a speed of less than 25 km/h/15 mph )
i) Gear selector in Sport or Manual
j) ABS was activated before stopping
k) Windshield is fogging up
Now who would post a lst like that

Oh, its the temperature?!
That explains my doubt why sometimes at traffic light and my foot is still tightly stepping in the break, but the engine restarts automatically. I must say the 1er is pretty smart Thanks.

Hi all,

Just an update. After having done 300km, this feature has now started working. I think it may have had something to do with the battery not having fully charged yet.

Now, next question, how so I permanently turn it off?!!

Strange...I'm in Australia, so perhaps by the time it was shipped from Germany and got to my part of Australia, the battery need a little while to charge.

Hmmm. I'm getting my F20 tomorrow. Excited much.

Since you believe it might be something to shipping from germany to down under, I'll give mine a check. Let's see whether this happens to F20's down under. Maybe yours was one off.

Will give you an update by Friday. Should go 100kms by then. Or more!

Cellisimo, which part of Oz you from? From VIC.

Hey mate.

My start/stop worked fine today. Off the shelf. Wonder why yours didn't work initially. But I am glad it is now!
